Data You Give Us Directly
Information entered into a search box, such as a name, telephone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. South Gate Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If a visitor sends a message, the reply process uses the information included in that message.
Data We Gather Automatically
Hosting systems may record ordinary server-log details, including an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. Aggregate reports help identify broken pages and understand general use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where those services are enabled.
What We Do With This Data
Information is used to operate, secure, measure, and improve the reference pages, respond to correspondence, and display sponsored or measured content when applicable. Search entries are handled by the provider shown by the search tool. The reference does not use visitor-submitted information to create a private resident profile.
Links to Other Websites
Pages link to Los Angeles County assessor and RR/CC services, South Gate records channels, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and other outside resources. Each linked service sets its own privacy terms and may collect information under its own rules. Review the destination’s policy before submitting a form or document.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process server-log information needed to run the pages. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above where enabled. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared as a private South Gate resident list.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used for the limited information held by the reference. No internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. The most sensitive data, including government identification numbers, court documents, vital records, and voter information, should be submitted only through the official custodian that requests it.
Users Under 18
These pages are not directed to children under 13, and the reference does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under that age. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent information may use the contact route so the limited local data can be reviewed and removed when appropriate.
Your Data Rights
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, appears in Civil Code section 1798.100 and following sections. Depending on coverage and exceptions, a consumer may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information held by a covered business. South Gate Residents Directory keeps very little information, so a request usually involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs.
California’s Delete Act provisions, including Civil Code section 1798.99.80 and following sections, support the DROP platform for registered data brokers. A DROP request concerns those brokers, not public records kept by the Los Angeles County Assessor, RR/CC, court, city, or state. Records held by a government custodian are outside this reference’s control and must be addressed to that custodian under its governing rules.
To ask about information held by this reference, use the Contact page. A request should identify the relevant message or page and provide enough detail to locate the data without sending unnecessary identity documents.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change when the reference, its hosting, or applicable California privacy requirements change. The current version will be posted here with the effective wording. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy where the law permits.
